Upgradeable Monitoring Platform
Gain deeper insight into your patients’ oxygenation and blood health.
The rainbow® platform builds on the accuracy of clinically proven Masimo SET® pulse oximetry, adding additional light wavelengths to monitor more advanced parameters—including total hemoglobin (SpHb®), methemoglobin (SpMet®), carboxyhemoglobin (SpCO®), oxygen reserve index (ORi™), and more—to support more informed care decisions.
With rainbow®, care teams can easily expand monitoring capabilities beyond pulse oximetry to include a unique array of advanced parameters obtained through rainbow® multiwavelength (4+ LEDs) sensors.
Explore rainbow® SensorsThe rainbow® platform gives clinicians insight into hemoglobin concentration, dyshemoglobin levels, oxygenation in the moderate hyperoxic range, acoustically derived respiration rate, and more.

rainbow® Parameters
† Measure-through motion and low perfusion parameters.
* SET® parameters are available on rainbow® sensors.
A first-of-its-kind FDA-cleared parameter, ORi expands the value of pulse oximetry by empowering care providers to see changes in patients’ oxygenation that may be undetectable by SpO2 alone, in the moderate hyperoxic range.*
* In the U.S., the ORi feature is intended to be used in patients undergoing surgery as an adjunct to SpO2 for increased monitoring resolution of elevated hemoglobin oxygen saturation levels (e.g., due to the administration of supplemental oxygen). The ORi feature is indicated for the monitoring of hemoglobin oxygen saturation levels in patients 18 years and older (adults and transitional adolescents), on supplemental oxygen during no-motion conditions perioperatively in hospital environments.
“Our studies show that ORi provides advanced detection of low SpO2 events. This additional time may allow modification of airway management, earlier calls for help, or assistance from other providers. Advanced detection of worsening oxygenation is valuable in operative and critical care settings, and ORi use has the potential to provide continuous monitoring to detect changes in pulmonary function.”
— Richard L. Applegate II, MD, Chair of Anesthesiology, Loma Linda University Health, California
Monitor hemoglobin trends noninvasively, continuously, and in real time.†
Leveraging additional wavelengths of light to provide greater visibility of blood constituents, SpHb enables clinicians to monitor changes in hemoglobin between invasive blood samples.
“Having continuous access to Hgb [hemoglobin] levels in real time offers a clear advantage over the traditional measurement methods as it enables clinicians to detect changes in Hgb levels quickly and adjust clinical management strategies accordingly.”1

† SpHb and SpMet are not intended to replace laboratory blood testing. Blood samples should be analyzed by laboratory instruments prior to clinical decision making. SpCO is not intended to be used as the sole basis for making diagnosis or treatment decisions related to suspected carbon monoxide poisoning; it is intended to be used in conjunction with additional methods of assessing clinical signs and symptoms.
